“Everyone can escape the Laws of Karma”

“Everyone can escape the Laws of Karma”

It is not a mandate that we will Reap all that we Sow,

Because we can even go before we reap what we had sown...

And at many places, someone will reap all that we had sown.

So, this is the Title of my next Article, “ Everyone can escape the Laws of Karma”

Aim:

The aim of this article is to explain that everyone can escape the laws of Karma. This is not a joke or fun, it has been already proved by many yogis in our country. That is the aim of Patanjali’s “Yoga Sutras”

Before going detail into the subject, first, we will see as of “What is Karma?”

Karma – means action (simply action)

So, people in our country believe that if we do a good deed, we will be rewarded with a good benefit. At the same time, if we do some bad deed, we may face all sorts of bad happenings in our life.

This is a simple way to explain the concept and hence people believe that “Nobody can escape the laws of Karma”.

But it is not so, there are many ways to explain the laws of Karma. Patanjali wrote his yoga sutras to prove the same. The book starts with entanglement and ends up with liberation.

To understand the concept with some more clarity, we need to know the types of Karma.

There are three types of Karma

1.       Sanchita Karma

2.       Prarabdha Karma

3.       Agami Karma

Sanchita Karma :

The Sanchita Karma is the resultant of all our past actions. That means these karmas are waiting for a resolution from us. These are very mild, but strong because they will get converted into action in the near future.

Prarabdha Karma :

The Prarabdha Karma is also a part of the Sanchita Karma. This Prarabdha karma is responsible for the form of our present body, and the same shall be experienced through the present body. (For example, if you have been born as a beautiful young lady, you would have done beautiful deeds in your past life)

Agami Karma :

This is the resultant of present karma on the future. If you are doing an action now and have a fruit out of it. But after some days you forgot how to make a fruit. Now, you still try to make the same fruit with the remaining knowledge in your mind. Those Future actions are called as Agami Karma.

“ we are bored with the topics of Karma – aren’t we?”

Yes, because we see that sin leads to sin and a good deed reaps a good result.

But I said that “Everone can escape the laws of Karma – isn’t it?”

Let us see some practical and known examples to know how many people escaped the laws of Karma in the past.

1.       Gautama Buddha

He was born in the king’s family and had a beautiful body and a beautiful wife. This means that his ‘Prarabhda Karma’ was to be a King( Destined to be a King). Whereas he deleted all his Prarabhda Karma by becoming a monk and denying the position of a King. From that day till his death, he did not accept the fruits of his Prarabdha karma. Can we say that he had escaped the laws of Karma? – mmm...Yes, but he did not try to escape the laws of Karma. Whereas in the path of the search of the truth, he naturally escaped from his original prarabdha karma.

2.       Sri Ramana Maharishi

He was born as Venkataraman Iyer in the year 1879. His father expired in the year 1892. After some intense experiences with the fear of death, he exited Madurai and reached Tiruvannamalai in the year 1896. He remained there itself for the rest of his life. If he had not boarded the train to Tiruvannamalai, he would have been something else. Here also the same Escape of Prarabdha Karma has happened. But, we do not know, what would have been Ramana’s life, if he had not boarded that train?

3.       Jesus Christ

Here is an alternative analysis for Jesus Christ. Here, he has done good deeds throughout his lifetime. But he was rewarded with a merciless punishment. If his Prarabdha Karma and Sanchita Karma were giving the right results, he would not have been killed in such a way. Those people who wanted Jesus Christ to be dead were not able to withstand the presence of Jesus in their period of rule. So, Here I cannot say that Jesus has escaped his Prarabdha Karma, but I am sure that here too the laws of Karma did not happen the right way. Because, he had done a lot of good deeds, for which he met with a death sentence.

4.       Lord Krishna

And, how is that the Person who was responsible for the holy war of Mahabaratha got killed by a small hunter in a forest? Lord Krishna’s death should have been in a big way? Isn’t it? The Lord who was responsible for the huge volume of death – Is getting his death in a simple manner. Yes, he cheats people even in his death and laughs in an eternal manner.

Last but not least,

“The present-day Sannyasins and Aghoris in Kasi, Ujjain and other places in India”

We can see that the present aghoris and Sannyasins in Kasi are none other but men who had run away from their homes. They might have run away due to their own inconveniences with their family life. For many of them, it would have been their wives with whom they were uncomfortable to live with. But, after fifteen or twenty years of Sadhana as Sannyasins, would their wives be able to identify their faces or names at present?

Yes..., there you can assess that all the talks about Karma are just suitable only for some people. Most of the people have escaped the laws of Karma. I am talking not just in thousands, I can say that millions and millions of people have already escaped their Prarabhda karma and living some other lives.

Even the wives of those sannyasins would have gone for a second marriage. This is not a joke, but they have to live their life, so they choose an immediate solution. But our Sannyasins are happy and free from their torturing wives.

Hmm...! But I won’t say that Sannyasin is the only path to escape the laws of Karma. It is one of the ways.

Then you may ask me what are the other ways?

The answer is all in “The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali”.

There are 196 sutras in the book of Patanjali. For beginners, it will be difficult to go through all the 196 and understand the meaning and act to it upon realisation.

So, I would like to suggest my dear friends only one sutra with which you can do many wonders in this world.

That is the second sutra “Yoga: Ciddha Vriddhi Niroddah”

Explanation: Many yogis have given the explanation for this sutra in their own ways.

Vivekananda says that” The process of stopping the ciddha from taking various forms is called as Yoga”. That means we need to stop the mind and take it to a tranquil state.

In a simpler way, we say that it is the process of stopping the multiplications of thoughts.

In our ordinary life, we have to move with many people for the purpose of our well being and professional development.

But, on a daily basis, we have lots of opinions created on the people with whom we are moving with.

Hence whenever we are exposed to the outer world and seeing a fellow human being, our thoughts get multiplied in each and every second in the present, based on our past experiences with them. But, this thought multiplication is not going to lead us to a successful life and well being.

Hence, the simple quote which we can say to ourselves is “Stop Thought multiplication” on a daily basis to ourselves (even if we know meditation or not – we can follow this simple process).

We can also say it to ourselves as many times as we can throughout the day, whenever we are free.

Hence by Stopping Thought Multiplication – Everyone can Escape the Laws of Karma (even if you know your karma or don’t know your karma).

Note:

We are talking about one sutra, but there are many other sutras which can lead you to escape the karmic laws. Hence, for further reading please read the book of “Yoga Sutras of Patanjali”.
